The Rix Centre is a research and development centre supported by a charitable organisation committed to realising the benefits of new media technology to transform the lives of people with learning disabilities.

In 2010 Big Ears Multimedia and The Rix Centre UEL School of Humanities and Social Sciences worked together through the Knowledge Connect Programme on a six month project to refine and develop the Multi-Me online prototype.

The UK Health and Learning Disability Network gives members access to a national community of people interested in health and people with learning disabilities, including nurses, doctors, therapists, commissioners and even professors! A recent survey found that of the 3000+ members of the Network, three-quarters have worked in the learning disability field for 10 or more years.
The network aims to assist health practitioners in both mainstream and specialist services with the health and learning disability agenda and concentrates on problem solving, information sharing and networking.
